Success with article marketing can be as easy or as hard as you make it.

Many people spend more time searching for that Holy grail of niches, the untapped, hungry desperate crowd of buyers just dying to whip out their PayPal info or checkbooks, or wallets or purses or whatever…

The amazing thing many people don’t realize is that you could find a niche like this but your approach could be all wrong, therefore your dominance of this untapped niche may not pay off for you…

You need to understand marketing concepts and your niche before you do anything else, then it just becomes a matter of getting as many of the right type of “eyeballs” to view your content and sales pitches.

It’s a common misconception that untapped niches are gold mines…

These niches are probably untapped because there’s no hungry, desperate crowd waiting for you and your solutions.

Yes, you might find some micro-niche that is not currently being heavily marketed to, but it is most likely a sub-niche of a major competitive niche.

So what are you supposed to do here?

It’s always been my opinion that you go after the heavily competitive markets with an eye for targeting the sub niches first, then work your way up to the more general and more competitive niches.

This is article marketing simplified here because you can target the microniches using long tails phrases and keywords with article submissions, then as you start ranking well for those terms, slowly increase your web presence market share by slowly rising in the rankings for the more competitive terms.

For example, weight loss and losing weight is a major general heavily competitive niche, but a subniche would be something like a certain method for losing weight, like a calorie shifting diet plan.

So you target this sub phrase and sub topic first, then slowly move your way into more general terms
